Artist Collaboration

Learn how artists and producers collaborate, share fanbases, and grow together on NewFans Collab.

What is NewFans Collab?

NewFans Collab is a platform designed for artists and producers to collaborate through challenges, share their fanbases, and grow together. Unlike traditional social media or video platforms, we focus on artist-to-artist connections and fanbase sharing.

The core philosophy: when artists collaborate, both fanbases benefit. By hosting challenges and creating drops together, you gain access to each other's audiences and build stronger communities.

Open Verse Challenges

Open Verse Challenges are the primary way artists collaborate on NewFans Collab. A host creates a challenge inviting others to rap, sing, or produce over their beat or track.

For Hosts (Artists/Producers)

  • Upload your beat or instrumental to YouTube
  • Create a challenge with rules and prize
  • Upload stems for better production (Creator plan)
  • Capture participant contact info (Launch+ plans)
  • Review entries and select winners

For Entrants (Artists)

  • Browse live challenges on /collab
  • Download stems and create your entry
  • Upload your entry video to YouTube
  • Submit via the challenge page
  • Get exposure to the host's fanbase

💡 Pro tip: Both the host and entrants benefit. The host gets content and entries, while entrants get exposure to the host's audience. It's a win-win collaboration model.

Fanbase Sharing

When you collaborate with another artist, you're not just creating content together—you're sharing audiences. Here's how it works:

Through Challenges

When you submit an entry to someone's challenge, their fans discover your work. When you host a challenge, you gain entries from artists who bring their own audiences.

Through Drops & Mixtape Collabs

Create joint mixtape drops with other artists. Fans who follow you can discover your collaborators, and vice versa. Share the same landing page and capture data together. Both artists' fanbases get access to the collaborative mixtape, exposing each artist to new listeners.

Through Profiles

Link to other artists on your profile, showcase collaborative challenges, and cross-promote each other's work through custom buttons.

Co-hosting Challenges

Two or more artists can co-headline a challenge together, combining their audiences for maximum reach.

How to Co-host

  1. 1.One artist creates the challenge and marks it as "Open to Collaboration"
  2. 2.Both artists promote the same challenge link to their audiences
  3. 3.Both artists appear in the challenge description and promotional materials
  4. 4.Captured contact info is shared between co-hosts (with consent)
  5. 5.Both artists can review entries and select winners together

✨ Benefits of Co-hosting: Double the audience reach, share the workload, build relationships with other artists, and create more valuable prizes together.

Mixtape Collaboration

Mixtapes are a powerful way to share fanbases. When you create a collaborative mixtape drop, both artists promote the same link, exposing each other to new audiences.

How Mixtape Collabs Work

  1. 1.One artist creates a Free Mixtape Drop and adds collaborators
  2. 2.All collaborators are listed on the mixtape landing page
  3. 3.Each artist promotes the same drop link to their fanbase
  4. 4.Fans from all artists discover the full lineup when they claim the mixtape
  5. 5.Collaborators can choose to share captured contact info (with consent)
  6. 6.All artists benefit from the combined audience reach

Fanbase Sharing Benefits

  • Each artist's fans discover the other collaborators
  • Multiplied promotion reach across all artists
  • Shared email list growth (opt-in)
  • Stronger perceived value with multiple artists
  • Cross-genre audience exposure

Best Mixtape Collab Practices

  • Feature 2-5 artists for optimal balance
  • Coordinate promotion schedules together
  • Create promotional graphics featuring all artists
  • Each artist posts on their own socials
  • Set clear expectations about contact sharing

💎 Power Move: Create a themed mixtape with artists from similar genres. When fans discover one artist, they're more likely to follow the others. Everyone wins.

Stems & Production Collaboration

On the Creator plan, you can upload individual audio stems for your challenges, enabling deeper collaboration opportunities.

What are Stems?

Stems are individual audio tracks that make up your full song or beat. For example:

  • Drums.wav
  • Bass.wav
  • Melody.wav
  • Vocals.wav

Why Upload Stems?

  • Artists can remix your track more professionally
  • Producers can create better versions of entries
  • Enables deeper collaboration opportunities
  • Higher quality submissions result
  • Shows you're serious about collaboration

🎵 Creator Feature: Stems management is available on the Creator plan ($79.99/mo). Upload up to 10 stem files per challenge as a ZIP archive.

Building Your List Together

On Launch and Creator plans, you can capture contact information (email + Instagram) from challenge participants and Drop visitors.

How It Works

1. Enable Contact Capture

When creating a challenge or drop, enable the contact capture option. Participants will be prompted to share their email and Instagram handle.

2. Participants Consent

All contact capture follows strict consent guidelines. Participants explicitly agree to share their info and understand how it will be used.

3. Export Your Data

Export your captured contacts as CSV anytime. Use this data for email campaigns, Instagram outreach, or building your mailing list.

4. Co-host Sharing

When you co-host a challenge with another artist, you can choose to share the captured contact info (with proper consent from participants).

⚠️ Important: Always use captured data responsibly and follow spam laws. Respect your fans and only send relevant, valuable content.

Collaboration Best Practices

✅ Do This

  • • Engage with entries and provide feedback
  • • Cross-promote challenges on your socials
  • • Offer valuable prizes (features, placements, etc.)
  • • Upload stems for better production quality
  • • Respond to participant questions
  • • Share winner content and celebrate participants
  • • Build genuine relationships with collaborators
  • • Offer host-based winnings (song features, shoutouts)

❌ Avoid This

  • • Creating challenges without promoting them
  • • Ignoring entries or not selecting winners
  • • Spamming captured contacts with irrelevant content
  • • Hosting too many challenges without engaging
  • • Using misleading prize descriptions
  • • Stealing or repurposing entries without credit
  • • Ghosting co-hosts or collaborators

Host-Based Winnings

Beyond prize credits, hosts can offer valuable non-monetary prizes that incentivize participation and build genuine artist-to-artist relationships.

Popular Host-Based Prizes

Feature on their next track

Winner gets a verse or hook on the host's upcoming song

Repost/shoutout to their audience

Host promotes winner's content to their entire fanbase

Placement in their music video

Winner appears in the host's official music video

Studio session collaboration

One-on-one studio time to create music together

Spot on their tour

Opening act or feature at one of the host's live shows

Exclusive beat pack

⭐ Why This Works: Host-based winnings don't require prize credits and often provide more value than monetary prizes. They create real collaboration opportunities and build lasting relationships between artists.
